Established at the 2010 Lisbon Summit, NATO Missile Defence is a rapidly developing Alliance project. Currently, it fits into one of
its three core tasks, i.e. defense and deterrence. From the beginning, the project’s plans and assessment of threats assumed close relation to that of the United States, as the most important contributor, which significantly affects its assumptions.
